    Re: Updating/Upgrading?
    As this OS is based on Noble Numbat, and, Ubuntu will have a LTS mid-October, are you also
    going to have an update/upgrade? If so, will the update/upgrade be “clickable”, or a “clean install”,
    (which I prefer doing). Also, do you offer Synaptic as a package manager?

      To answer your questions:
      1. The Ubuntu release on October 10, 2024, (Ubuntu 24.10 “Oracular Oriole”) is a short-term release, not an LTS. FunOS is based on Ubuntu LTS versions, so the next update will be FunOS 24.04.2, based on Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS. It’s planned for release around February 2025.
      2. Regarding Synaptic, it is not installed by default on FunOS. However, you can easily install it via Terminal with the command:
      sudo apt update && sudo apt install synaptic

    WOW! This really IS a lot of Fun!

    I’ve bee running Xubuntu since 16.04, and I currenty have Xubuntu 24.04.1. I found this on Distro Watch and had some time to see what JWM is like. Having been a CrunchBang user all those years ago, tweaking Fun OS is not a problem. I have had to do a few web-searches for some JWM specific details, but it’s all coming together. One thing I found, for keybindings, the mask for the windows key is “4”.

    For anyone that likes to update via the terminal and want to get rid of the “Ubuntu Pro” message, go to /etc/apt/apt.conf.d and remove “20apt-esm-hook.conf”.

      Thank you for your comment! FunOS does not come with an app store by default, but you can easily add one if needed. You can install GNOME Software by running the following command in the terminal:

      sudo apt update && sudo apt install gnome-software

      This will allow you to browse and install apps with a graphical interface. Let me know if you need any further assistance!

    Greetings. I was testing in Live mode, and I think this distro is great. I installed, but I have a problem that I still can’t solve, when I click on the Menu it starts flashing, then it freezes for a few seconds, and I click on Menu again, and it logs me out or the PC restarts. What can I do to solve this problem. Thank you, I will be attentive to your response.

      Regarding the issue you’re experiencing, it seems like it could be related to the JWM tray configuration. To help resolve this, could you share the specifications of the PC or laptop you’re using? This information might provide more insights into the problem.

      In the meantime, you can try the following steps to address the issue:

      1. Open the Terminal.
      2. Run this command:

      mousepad $HOME/.config/jwm/tray

      3. Look for the following line in the file:

      <Tray x="0" y="-1" height="30" autohide="off" delay="1000">

      4. Change it to:

      <Tray x="0" y="-1" height="30" autohide="off">

      5. Save the file and close Mousepad.
      6. Restart the JWM window manager with this command:

      jwm -restart
