How to Install LibreWolf on FunOS

If you value privacy and security when browsing the web, LibreWolf is an excellent choice. This browser is designed to give you more control over your online activity by removing telemetry, improving default privacy settings, and blocking unnecessary data collection features found in other browsers. In this guide, youโ€™ll learn how to install LibreWolf on FunOS, step by step.

What is LibreWolf?

LibreWolf is a privacy-focused fork of Mozilla Firefox. Itโ€™s built from the Firefox source code but with several modifications aimed at protecting user privacy and freedom. LibreWolf removes telemetry, data collection, and sponsored content. It also includes privacy-enhancing default settings and ships with uBlock Origin preinstalled to block ads and trackers.

Some of LibreWolfโ€™s main features include:

  • No telemetry โ€” LibreWolf doesnโ€™t send usage data back to Mozilla or any other organization.
  • Enhanced privacy settings โ€” Tracking protection and fingerprinting resistance are enabled by default.
  • Custom search engines โ€” LibreWolf replaces Firefoxโ€™s default search engine (often tied to commercial partnerships) with privacy-friendly options.
  • Frequent updates โ€” The project is community-driven and regularly updated to include the latest Firefox security patches.

For users who prefer open-source, security-conscious software, LibreWolf is a perfect companion for FunOS.

    I love this distro!
But really can’t install much stuff in your massive list.

all commands are fine until I get to this:
    sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/librewolf.sources < /dev/null

nothing ever comes of this command. system just hangs for a half hour. so I kill terminal.
stuff I use like mullvad browser and ungoogled I will try to add via Ubu repos or source the .deb or try flatpak.

JWM really makes this thing pop. I appreciate your vision. My brother printer and epson scanner were easy to install when I found the packages. Again, fun OS rocks.

      sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/librewolf.sources << EOF > /dev/null
      Types: deb
      URIs: https://deb.librewolf.net
      Suites: jammy
      Components: main
      Architectures: amd64
      Signed-By: /usr/share/keyrings/librewolf.gpg
      EOF
